Creezi sau Donezi?” Iarna 2011

RFB, Romexpo si Club 4×4 Romania te invita in perioada 1 – 4 decembrie 2011 la “Creezi sau Donezi? Iarna 2011”, o petrecere creativa organizata in scop caritabil in cadrul targului CBS – Targ de Cadouri de Craciun, Decoratiuni si Suveniruri.
Fondurile obtinute in urma acestui eveniment caritabil vor fi folosite pentru a ajuta 50 de copii, prescolari de la gradinita din Grosani – Slanic Prahova in cadrul campaniei umanitare organizate de Club 4×4 Romania. Mai multe detalii despre campania umanitara pe club4×4romania.ro sau aici.
Esti invitat sa creezi si sa donezi, in scop caritabil si intr-un mod inedit, intr-una din zonele spatiului in care se va desfasura cea de-a IV-a editie “Creezi sau Donezi?”.
Zona de creatie – Zona din care alegi din accesoriile si ustensilele disponibile, ce doresti si ce te inspira si iti creezi singur un glob pentru pomul de Craciun al socrilor, o felicitare pentru bunica, o brosa pentru prietena cea mai buna sau un inel de logodna pentru iubita. Lasi in schimb in cosul de donatii o bancnota pentru copii prescolari de la gradinita din Grosani. Cu bancnota de la tine vom cumpara copiilor creioane colorate si acuarele, sa poata si ei oferi bunicilor o felicitare, fratilor mai mici bomboane colorate … de Craciun.
Zona de donatie – Piesele expuse vor fi donate de membrii RFB, bloggeri, prieteni, artisti si designeri. Iti alegi o piesa vestimentara sau un accesoriu pe plac sau pentru familie, rude si prieteni. Lasi in schimb in cosul de donatii o bancnota pentru copii prescolari de la gradinita din Grosani. Cu bancnota de la tine le vom cumpara un fular, o caciulita de lana sau manusi … sa le fie cald de Craciun.
Accesoriile si ustensilele necesare pentru eveniment sunt donate de membrii RFB si membrii Clubului 4×4 Romania. Designeri romani consacrati si membrii RFB precum Agata Secelean, Diana Bobar, Josephine sau Ludmila Corlateanu vor dona piese din colectiile lor, piese ce vor expuse in zona de donatie.
“Creezi sau Donezi?” se afla la a IV-a editie. Este incercarea noastra, a membrilor RFB, de a oferi un cadou de Craciun celor dragi si copiilor. Ne aflam la a doua colaborare cu Clubul 4×4 Romania, club care organizeaza in fiecare an, de Craciun, o actiune umanitara pentru copii. Ne folosim de creativitate, moda si 4×4 pentru a aduce zambetul pe chipul ingeresc al unui copil. Sunt absolut sigura ca vom fi surprinsi de creativitatea si de darnicia bucurestenilor. Oricine poate dona de Craciun. Roxana Radu – fondator RFB.
“In fiecare an organizam cate doua actiuni cu caracter umanitar si ajutam acolo unde este nevoie. De cele mai multe ori, banii stransi se duc in locuri extrem de izolate, descoperite in expeditiile Clubului 4×4 Romania, unde nu este curent electric si cu acces imposibil pentru alte masini inafara de cele de teren”, Ligia Popescu – Club 4×4 Romania.
Te asteptam in perioada 1- 4 decembrie 2011 in Centrul Expozitional Romexpo, in pavilionul C2, intre orele 10 si 18, fie sa iti pui in valoare talentul creativ in scop caritabil, fie sa ajuti o cauza nobila, achizitionand accesorii de Craciun.

RFB – Romanian Fashion Bloggers reprezinta comunitatea bloggerilor de moda din Romania dar si un organizator de evenimente si proiecte ce sustin bloggerii si industria de moda din Romania si nu numai. Nascut din pasiune pentru moda la sfarsitul anului 2008, rfb se mandreste pana in prezent cu participarea la Paris Fashion Week Fall 2009 dar si participarea si parteneriatul media cu Romanian Fashion Week 2010.
CBS – Targ de Cadouri de Craciun, Decoratiuni si Suveniruri se afla la prima editie, ofera o gama larga de produse si isi propune sa devina locul ideal de intalnire al celor mai noi si avantajoase oferte de cadouri de Craciun, decoratiuni si suveniruri. Targul este destinat atat publicului larg, cat si firmelor care doresc sa-si imbunatateasca portofoliul de produse si ofera posibilitatea achizionarii de cadouri pentru sarbatorile de iarna la preturi avantajoase.
Club 4×4 Romania, s-a infiintat la sfarsitul lunii iulie 2009, iar divizia sa sportiva, Team4×4 s-a constituit ca Asociatie in anul 2010. Daca in 2010 rfb.ro – romanian fashion bloggers, a fost la Paris Fashion Week, in 2010 a sustinut in calitate de partener media Romanian Fashion Week, in 2011 aa ales sa sustina ITP EXPO – prima expozitie internationala de Contractari pentru Confectii, Textile, Pielarie si Incaltaminte.

Manifestarea reprezinta unul din domeniile prioritare pe care Romexpo si-a propus sa le abordeze in cadrul programului sau expozitional din acest an, program care a fost intocmit tinand cont de Planul National de Dezvoltare 2007 – 2013 precum si de Strategia de Dezvoltare a Mediului de Afaceri din Romania.
Targul “ITP Expo” a fost creat cu rolul de a realiza o platforma de afaceri pentru Industria de profil din Romania si din strainatate, cuprinzand cele trei componente, “Contractare”, “Evenimente specifice” si “Vanzare”, care vor fi structurate pe saloane tematice:
·         materii prime si accesorii pentru Industria Usoara;
·         echipamente si tehnologii pentru Industria Usoara;
·         produse textile, articole de îmbrăcăminte, respectiv pielărie şi încălţăminte;
·         tendinte si design vestimentar;

In cadrul evenimentelor specifice vor avea loc prezentari de moda, workshop cu designeri, workshop cu comerciantii, lansari de noi produse, conferinte pe teme de interes, receptii;
ITP Expo se bucura de o ampla campanie de promovare atat la nivel national cat si in strainatate, prin transmiterea de invitatii comerciantilor, lanturilor de magazine, producatorilor dar si designerilor, agentiilor si asociatiilor de profil din diverse tari.

Organic Structures - fashion show snaps

These are some photos from my graduation show. Yes, it's all over now - or not, cause I'm applying for a MA course this autumn - so many months of work were over in 8 minutes of show:) The idea behind this collection was to show how versatile a cotton canvas can be and for that I loved to play with lines, modules and structures. A lot of manual sewing went into these pieces. And these are eco-friendly too, because of the organic cotton used. I hope in the future I will be able to buy some from Romania too and have an eco-friendly line, but for now the use of sustainable fabrics may end since it's too expensive for me to import them. Organic Structures

These are the illustrations for my graduate fashion collection, Organic Structures. I wanted to show how versatile a simple organic cotton canvas can be and the best way to do that was by manipulating the fabric to create different structures, to achieve that bas-relief feel. I kept the silhouette simple (in my drawings and actual pattern construction) and insisted on the clothes. I love how a simple module creates a stucture when repeated.
For this collection I was inspired by Carl Andre's minimalist work and used different fabric manipulation techniques. The color palette was reduced to some beige and pale green - this is how cotton was once grown: in shades of cream and green and white, but over time breeders selected it to be just white - and added a turquoise to spice up the collection.

For me, it all started in 2008, watching Project Runway season 5. Leanne Marshall, the winner of Season 5 was the one that grabbed my attention. She uses hemp silk blend, organic cotton or pure silk in her creations. It was before applying to college and I think it had a sort of impact on my decision to follow an Art College. Here I am, two weeks before my graduation, thinking about sustainable fashion.
What do you think about when you hear "eco fashion" or "sustainable fashion"?
"Sustainable fashion, also called eco fashion, is a part of the growing design philosophy and trend of sustainability, the goal of which is to create a system which can be supported indefinitely in terms of environmentalism and social responsibility. Sustainable fashion is part of the larger trend of sustainable design where a product is created and produced with consideration to the environmental and social impact it may have throughout its total life span, including its "carbon footprint". There are many factors when considering the sustainability of a material. The renewability and source of a fiber, the process of how a raw fiber is turned into a textile, the working conditions of the people producing the materials, and the marterials total carbon footprint." - Wikipedia says.
I will reveal the fact that my graduation collection is made entirely from organic cotton (I really could not find any in Romania, so I had to buy the fabrics from UK, but that's a whole different story). Organic cotton is grown using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment. Organic production systems replenish and maintain soil fertility, reduce the use of toxic and persistent pesticides and fertilizers, and build biologically diverse agriculture. Third-party certification organizations verify that organic producers use only methods and materials allowed in organic product.
Other sustainable materials would be: natural fibers (plant fiber or animal fiber), cellulose (jute, flax, abaca, bamboo, soy, corn, banana, pineapple, ramie and of course, cotton), protein (cashmere, silk, wool, angora, mohair, vicuna, llama, alpaca, camel), manufactured fabrics (lyocell, corn polymer) and the recycled fibers (made from scraps of fabrics collected from clothing factories, which are processed back into short fibres for spinning into a new yarn).

This post started in my mind not to teach you things about eco fashion, there are great sites on the web for that, but to show you a video that really made me think again about this sustainable fashion thing. In which way a new fabric would change today's fashion (that's already changing so fast)? We now are familiar with leather, hemp, silk, cotton, and the eco fashion is in bloom. But can you imagine including a dress made from green tea in your wardrobe? I sure can, and got my hopes up, thanks to great people like Suzanne Lee:

Chaos in my head

Chaos, indeed. That's me, in the sketches.Today is the last day of my college courses. I can't believe time went by so fast. My exams are starting on Monday, by June 15 I need to be ready with my fashion collection and submit the folder (oh, the big folder!), and at the end of June I will have my first fashion show. It's exciting, but at the same time sweaty (especially with this new, hot weather from here!).
Meantime, I am making clutches and custom bags (which cover a lot of expenses related to graduating and the fashion show I talked about), so you can see why I neglected this blog. But I decided to refresh things a little and spend more time in here, soon I will share with you (if this blog still has any readers, ofc:) ) my final college project and you'll join me in a new journey, a post-college one. :)
And speaking of bags, you can shop some of my things from Etsy (international) or Breslo (for my romanian readers), I also will gladly respond to any request on mail . And even if you don't have any, just stop by with an email and say hi! :)

Bănuiesc că toată lumea utilizează frecvent Wikipedia şi a auzit cel puţin o dată despre Wikileaks. Nu ştiu câtă lume accesează Wikimapia, Wikianswers sau ale Wiki-site-uri, însă Wikifashion este locul în care pierd eu destul de multă vreme.
Bloguri de modă, informaţii, galerii, articole, discuţii, toate într-un singur loc. Totuşi, trebuie ţinut cont de faptul că Wikifashion este un proiect creat de şi pentru oamenii pasionaţi de modă. Deci nu va reprezenta niciodată o sursă de informaţii 100% sigură (la fel stau lucrurile şi cu Wikipedia, de altfel).
Un alt aspect interesant e că Wikifashion caută colaboratori. Partea proastă? meniul ar putea fi îmbunătăţit, sunt multe informaţii pe site pe care le găseşti foarte greu.

I know I don't post as often as I would want to, but I really have an excuse! :) Since I am in my final year as a student, I started working on my first collection as a fashion designer (my future bachelor's degree). Well, I'm in the first phase (concept, ideas, sketches), but I think it's the most difficult part. There are so many ideas and things I would want to do, that is difficult to choose just 10 looks. But there is still time to do that, meanwhile we have other projects to do for school too (and not all of them are exciting). It's certainly a busy time, but I'm loving every moment.

On the other hand, St Nicholas Day is tomorrow, December 6. So go clean your boots (the bigger, the better) and put them on the doorstep, 'cause tonight St Nicholas will fill them with presents (if you've been good this year, of course). And don't forget to leave him some cookies on the window sill!

Vitrina unui magazin reprezintă legătura dintre un brand şi consumator. Este un instrument puternic folosit în atragerea clienţilor, o investiţie care aduce profit.

Oamenii au nevoie de aproximativ 3 secunde de contact vizual cu o vitrină pentru a decide dacă intră sau nu în acel magazin. Excepţie fac, bineînţeles, clienţii fideli sau cei pentru care o vizită în acel magazin e deja plănuită. Mai sunt şi acele vitrine de care ţi se fixează privirea preţ de câteva minute, datorită compoziţiei, culorilor sau întregii poveşti care tocmai se derulează în mintea ta.

Vitrinele trebuie să exprime identitatea brandului, ele sunt construite pe baza filosofiei acelei mărci. De regulă, ele cuprind produse atent selectate din magazin, care, puse împreună, exprimă un mesaj captivant. Pentru aranjarea vitrinelor e nevoie de un brief, care ţine cont de campania actuală de advertising, de conceptul de magazin, de schiţe şi de detalii (culori, materiale, variante de poziţionări, simulări). În execuţie, deseori se folosesc pe lângă window dresseri şi arhitecţi sau scenografi. Acest lucru se întâmplă în special în cazul brandurilor de lux, unde bugetul acordat vitrinelor este şi el foarte mare (uneori nelimitat).

These are pictures of my work, mostly from my first year of college. We started by practicing with lines and different effects the line can produce. The samples are made in pastel, charcoal, marker, ink and pencil.

A different type of practice is using lines in a compositional way, creating perhaps a pattern for future decorations on fabric. We had complete freedom in choosing the form of lines we like, so there are different types of lines I made, not necessarily conclusive together.

We really worked a lot with lines in the first year, we had to make A LOT of quick samples, which made us think of every possible form that a line can create.

But not only we had to work with black and white lines, we also had to work with color. Below are five examples (same form) of how the center of interest can be obtained through different methods (intensity, different coverage of the same pattern, color, texture&color and lack of pattern):

We also played with color when we got to practice with the seven types of color contrasts.

Here, the complementary contrasts (red-green, blue-orange, yellow-purple) are displayed in two series. In the first one, the colors are mixed with 90% white, and in the second with 90% black.

For the exam we had to mix all these three contrasts in a painting, playing with the colors until we have as many tones as possible (colored grays). You can see the top is made of blue and orange combined, the center from red and green and the bottom is painted in tones of yellow and purple.

We also worked a lot with paper, in the first semester it was all about the center of interest in a composition. This rule also applies on garments, so we made our practice on paper dresses with the same form (dimensions). Pleats, braids, twists & Co, no color involved.

Along with these dresses, each student gave a pattern proposal, also made from paper.

These drawings below are actually from the second year, but I found them in my first year folder. I'm very organized, I know:) The teacher brought us a knotted sheet, so the drawings from the top are made in pencil, charcoal and pastel, and the large one from the bottom is made in charcoal (it's so much quicker when you have a time-management issue, like I do).

You may know Samaire from movies like "Just my Luck", "Not Another Teen Movie", or TV Series like "The O.C.", "Dirty Sexy Money", "Entourage". Or maybe you've seen her in music videos like Daniel Powter's "Bad Day" or Hanson's "Penny & Me".

All I know is that I've always loved her style. I think she's not trying so much to be stylish and yet, she is. Samaire even designed clothes for her own clothing brand, called NARU. The brand has been featured in such fashion magazines as Vogue, Elle and YM, but is available only in a few exclusive boutiques in Hawaii.

I wish I could see her more in movies or TV Series, cause she kinda got a break. What do you think of her style?

Dupa tema de interior la care am ales prajiturile, am realizat-o pe cea de exterior, unde am folosit o poza gasita pe flickr, reprezentand un detaliu urban foarte interesant, in special cromatic.
Lucrarea e realizata din burete matlasat, material textil, ata de crosetat si culori acrilice.

Dupa studii, schite si un vernisaj de grup cu insectele studiate, a urmat imprimarea formei pe material textil. Procedeul e asemanator cu cel de aici, iar vopseaua folosita este textila (rezistenta la spalare, calcare, etc.)

In ultima vreme am experimentat cu detaliile realizate pe material si trebuie sa recunosc ca imi plac mult efectele pe care poti sa le redai prin cateva cusaturi puse strategic. Iata ca am reusit sa termin si ce imi propusesem de multa vreme, adica sa scot spre vanzare cateva gentute. Le puteti gasi pe Breslo sau puteti sa le comandati direct printr-un mail la adelacoc@gmail.com. De asemenea, daca aveti comenzi sau dorinte specifice, le putem discuta tot prin mail. Sunt primele exemplare, insa sigur voi continua in aceasta zona a volumetriilor, excluzand momentan imprimeurile.

DIY: Wall board 2

Aceasta varianta de panou am creat-o pentru a-mi organiza diferitele papiote de ata. Initial am incercat cu un suport de sarma, insa era mult prea complicat pentru rabdarea mea.

Ingrediente:
-burete foarte dens sau chiar o placuta de polistiren
-material textil
-ace de gamalie
-scobitori

Se taie bucata de material (eu am folosit un elastan) putin mai mare decat baza (buretele sau polistirenul). In lipsa unei placi intregi de polistiren, am folosit niste ramasite dintr-un suport de piese de sah. :) Pe dos, se prind marginile materialului de burete cu ajutorul unor ace de gamalie:

Pe fata va arata asa:

Se introduc scobitorile in placa, formand cu aceasta un unghi mai mic de 45, se formeaza randuri cu distanta diferita intre ele (pentru diferitele marimi de papiote - ele trebuie sa incapa lejer pe placa).

Se pot aranja papiotele in functie de marime (sus cele mici - jos cele mai mari) sau in functie de culori. Rezultatul final:

Si asa am mai rezolvat o problema de organizare. :)

DIY: Wall board

Pentru cei care stau prost cu organizarea, exista cam peste tot in magazinele de amenajari interioare panourile din pluta:

Pe langa faptul ca este o solutie pentru problema organizarii, mai poate fi folosit si in scop pur vizual, atasandu-i poze cu cei dragi sau imagini si colaje pentru a crea o plansa de atmosfera.
Pentru cei care vor sa isi construiasca propriul panou, am atasat unele imagini cu ideea mea.
Din lipsa unei bucati de pluta, am folosit un dreptunghi din carton, invelit in burete. Din cauza unor probleme cu aparatul foto, pozele sunt facute cu telefonul, deci adaug scuzele de rigoare pentru proasta lor calitate.

Se taie un dreptunghi din carton, de dimensiunea preferata, dupa care se taie un dreptunghi din burete, lasand o rezerva de aprox 4 cm pentru indoire.

Pe fata ar trebui sa arate ceva de genul:

Se face o gaura in carton pentru cui sau se prinde o agatatoare. Rezultatul final:

Panoul se poate inrama, pentru un aspect mai profesional sau inveli intr-un material elastic colorat, pentru un aspect mai vesel.

Unele parti nu sunt identice, insa sunt multumita cu ce a iesit. Cine a spus ca nu e relaxant in facultate? :)

Copii din Africa au nevoie de noi

In data de 15 aprilie va invitam sa deveniti parte din Art4Africa, un proiect ce isi propune sa ajute copiii dintr-o comunitate izolata din Uganda, Africa de Est: satul Busabaga. Pe parcursul evenimentului veti uita de problemele cotidiene pentru a va indrepta atentia asupra unui prezent dureros: oameni care nu au dreptul la educatie gratuita, fara de care nu au nicio sansa in fata unei societati conservatoare, supusa unui razboi civil.

Va asteptam joi, 15 aprilie, incepand cu ora 19.00, la Absintherie Sixtina din centrul istoric, pentru ca impreuna sa incercam sa dam o noua sansa la educatie acestor copii, printr-o licitatie de arta si un targ caritabil. Artistii care au confirmat deja participarea la eveniment prin donarea de lucrari sunt: Ciprian Paleologu, Mihail Cosuletu, Simona Vilau, Matei Branea, Paul Hitter, Vlad Eftenie, Radu Vitalaru, Gina Buliga, Alex Mirea, Roxana Banic, Sorin Cojocaru, Daniela Vasiliu, Cristi Malaia, Alexandra Plamadeala.

Pe langa licitatia de arta, la targul caritabil veti putea achizitiona obiecte de suflet care sa va aminteasca de oameni pe care nu ii cunoastem dar care au atata nevoie de noi. Intreaga suma obtinuta in urma vanzarii acestor obiecte va fii donata copiilor din satul Busabaga.

Printre surprizele serii se numara o reprezentatie inedita de muzica traditionala africana sustinuta Ikhaya Drum, timp in care artistul vizual Diana Kiss va proiecta imagini si filme reprezentative pentru proiect si pentru cultura Africana. Vor urma o serie de discutii cu invitatii speciali ai evenimentului: Marius Chivu (Dilema veche), Alice Nastase si Florin Grozea.

Organizarea evenimentului a fost realizata exclusiv prin voluntariat si sustinere benevola din partea partenerilor. Promovarea evenimentului va fi realizata integral prin metode neonventionale care nu consuma resurse financiare. Investitia tuturor celor implicati consta exclusiv in timp si energie.

Acesti oameni se pierd pentru ca nu se constientizeaza cat de simplu ar fi sa invatam sa-i salvam. Am aratat ca putem salva un om, punand in miscare online-ul. Hashtag-ul #draduta a devenit o cauza, o demonstratie a faptului ca sta in puterea noastra de solidaritate sa salvam vieti. Acum ne simtim in stare sa facem mult mai mult. Ceea ce i s-a intamplat lui Daniel nu va fi pus sub vina cuiva anume, dar se va face in asa fel incat sa nu se mai intample. Nu noua! Minnie & Mickey Mouse fever continues. Before, we had playful prints on shirts, but now the cute ears can be found everywhere: in the collections of major designers, in pictorials for major magazines or in the image of stars such as Rihanna or Lady Gaga. Personally, I am a big fan of all thingies related to the Mouse couple and at the end of the post I added a picture with a recently received gift. Clicking on each picture will lead to the photo source or the website from where you can buy the items.

Febra Mickey & Minnie Mouse continua. Daca pana acum am avut imprimeuri jucause pe tricouri, iata ca acum simpaticele urechi se gasesc peste tot: in colectiile marilor designeri, in pictoriale pentru reviste importante, dar si in imaginea unor vedete precum Rihanna sau Lady Gaga. Sunt si eu o mare amatoare a tot ceea ce inseamna cuplul Mouse, iar la sfarsitul postului am adaugat un cadou special primit recent: ceasul cu urechi de soricel.
